Why Not Write Wednesday: Write for Mom!

Every Wednesday our creative writing prompt encourages you to take up your pen and indulge your author self!

Sunday is Mother's Day.  How about taking some time to write something special for your mom? Here are some ideas:

  • Write an acrostic poem using the word M-O-T-H-E-R.

  • Write a thank you letter to your mom expressing your gratitude for all the things she does for you.

  • Write about a favorite or funny memory of your mother.

  • Finish this sentence in as many ways as you can think of: "My mother is a great Mom because…". Try using a different adjective each time: "My mother is a fabulous mom because …; "My mother is a one-of-a-kind Mom because…;" "My mother is a spectacular Mom because…."

  • Imagine that you and your mom switched places and suddenly you became her Mom for a Day. What would that be like? Write about a day in her shoes.
