Every week, in "You Read it Here First!" we feature writing from students in "Take My Word For It's!" creative writing classes.

When these young authors become well known writers, you can say you read them here first!

This week we asked our students, Elle and Ezra, at Mariloma Elementary to do a writing exercise practicing personification. Personification is the act of giving human traits to non-living objects. In writing, personification can be a fun tool to activate your imagination when describing an object.

We also had our students, Sarah, Ella, Ezra, and Ava work on a few different prompts to get their creative juices flowing.

Below is a fun sampling of writing that is sure to get any budding author's imagination flowing!
